What is a Chakra???
Never heard of chakras before? Don't worry, neither had Danielle before she started on her spiritual healing journey!
The word 'chakra' means 'wheel' in ancient Indian Sanskrit. The human body is comprised of a complex energy system containing hundreds of minor and major chakras. These chakras continuously spin (like a wheel) and funnel energy throughout your body and energy field. There are 7 main chakras that are located at specific parts of your body. Each of these main chakras vibrate energy at different frequencies and has its own colour resonance, body association and meaning.
BASE CHAKRA
This chakra is located at the base of your spine and resonates to the colour red. It is about our survival in this physical world and drives us to seek food, water, shelter - to feel grounded & safe. It's connected to our lower body and organs of elimination.
If there are imbalances in this chakra, one may feel ungrounded, lost, lower back pain, lower digestive issues such as constipation or diarrhea.
SACRAL CHAKRA
This chakra is located just below your naval and resonates to the colour orange. It is about 'human' experiences such as emotions, sensuality, desire, pleasure and creativity. It's connected to our reproductive, urinary and digestive systems.
If there are imbalances in this chakra, one may experience lethargy, unhealthy addictions, reproductive system issues, digestive issues such as bloating.
SOLAR PLEXUS CHAKRA
This chakra is located in your upper abdomen region, about 2 inches above your navel and resonates to the colour yellow. It is about our sense of self, confidence, self-esteem and motivation. It's connected to our upper digestive system, muscles and pancreas.
If there are imbalances in this chakra, one may experience low self-esteem, depression, self-loathing, upper digestive issues.
HEART CHAKRA
This chakra is located at the centre of your chest and resonates to the colour green. It is about connection, compassion, forgiveness and unconditional love for yourself and other people. It's connected to our heart & our circulatory & respiratory system.
If there are imbalances in this chakra, one may experience a tight chest, commitment issues, inability to trust, always putting others first.
THROAT CHAKRA
This chakra is located at your throat region and resonates to the colour blue. It is about your authentic self, communicating your true voice and personal expression. It's connected to our throat, neck, vocal cords, mouth, nose and ears.
If there are imbalances in this chakra, one may experience a cough, sore throat, sore ears, inability to speak your truth, constantly lying or exaggerating.
THIRD EYE CHAKRA
This chakra is located above and between your eyebrows and resonates to the colour indigo. It is about your intuition, insight, clarity, awareness and clairvoyance. It's connected to our physical eyes and pineal gland.
If there are imbalances in this chakra, one may experience tension headaches, blurry vision, feeling disconnected, unable to accept or learn from life's mistakes
